In July 2024, Florence Awoniyi (University of Ghana) and Bernhard Krön (KPH Vienna/Lower Austria), along with a team of research assistants, conducted a study on mental arithmetic and new dyscalculia diagnostic procedures at primary schools in Accra and Cape Coast. The results will be published soon. Another study was conducted in Walembelle (Upper West Region) in July 2025. During these projects, valuable insights into the Ghanaian education system were gained, and further contacts were established for future projects.
Plans for the future include teacher training measures and projects with public schools (e.g. infrastructure improvements and support for children with arithmetic learning difficulties).
